Highlighter.
I've been so late to this highlighter game as I've only recently gotten into using it. I had this idea in my head that if I used it I would look like a disco ball. I have oily skin so the thought of being shiny terrifies me, haha.
Once I tried putting it onto my cheekbones I immediately fell in love. It's honestly the most satisfying beauty trend ever. I just make sure not to go too crazy with it. It adds the nice dimension to a makeup look and when it catches that light..AMAZING! I don't think a makeup look is the same without it now.
I've been using this Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette. I saw NikkieTutorials rave about this and rightly so, it's so good. Really pigmented with 4 contrasting shimmery shades.
Bronzer.
I stupidly used to use my contour shade to bronzer up my face which sometimes gave a muddy look. I always figured contour and bronzer were the same thing but they definitely aren't.
The bronzer I've been using is the Rimmel Natural Bronzer which has a slight gold shimmer to it which makes my skin look naturally tanned and healthy.
Light Concealer.
I don't have dark circles under my eyes, thankfully but I do get bags sometimes. I've been really enjoying using this Nyx Concealer which is much lighter than my foundation shade, under my eyes. Even on days where I have no bags and have very little discolouration under my eyes I add this to brighten up my face. It's so affective.
If you are like me and so late to trying this then do give it a go because it really does help your face look more awake.
Waterproof Mascara.
As I've already mentioned I have oily skin so normal mascaras that I've used for my bottom lashes have just ended up smudging everywhere throughout the day. So this Summer I decided to use a waterproof mascara for my bottom lashes only which helps them to not smudge half way down my face.
I don;t like to use waterproof mascaras on my top lashes usually so when I bought the Maybeline Lash Sensational in waterproof by accident I just decided to use it for under my eyes but to be honest it's a bit big of an applicator to do my bottom lashes so I must really buy a thinner and smaller mascara.
Gel Liner.
Another product I've recently tried is the Nyx Mousse Liner. I always heard that it was easier to do a winged liner with a gel but I never believed till I tried it and it's honestly true. I still personally prefer using a pen style liner but it definitely lasts longer using a gel and easier to do a cat-eye Try it out if you struggle with winged liner when using a pen style applicator.
Primer.
After beginning to use primer I've noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my makeup. It also helps my makeup to stay on for longer. Everything just seems to sit better and last longer. I will have to go and buy the mattifying version of the Benefit Porefessional Primer as I've liked using this one so much.
Coconut Oil.
I've spoken about coconut oil on my blog before as I love to use it on my hair regularly but I've been loving using it as a moisturiser for my skin recently too. Especially over the Summer when my skin was drier than usual.
I don't love the smell of coconut to be honest but the feeling it gives my skin makes the smell
bearable, It dries in pretty quickly just make sure to not wear it when out in the sun as oil attracts the heat.
