Beauty Discoveries/Favourites.

Hey guys. I've discovered a couple new makeup products or tricks that I've been loving. These are definitely not considered "new" in the beauty world but I'm just late to the band wagon. Let me know if you've used any of these products or if you've tried these beauty tricks before. Hope this is helpful to at least one of you.

Highlighter.
I've been so late to this highlighter game as I've only recently gotten into using it. I had this idea in my head that if I used it I would look like a disco ball. I have oily skin so the thought of being shiny terrifies me, haha.

Once I tried putting it onto my cheekbones I immediately fell in love. It's honestly the most satisfying beauty trend ever. I just make sure not to go too crazy with it. It adds the nice dimension to a makeup look and when it catches that light..AMAZING! I don't think a makeup look is the same without it now.

I've been using this Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette. I saw NikkieTutorials rave about this and rightly so, it's so good. Really pigmented with 4 contrasting shimmery shades.

Bronzer.
I stupidly used to use my contour shade to bronzer up my face which sometimes gave a muddy look. I always figured contour and bronzer were the same thing but they definitely aren't.

The bronzer I've been using is the Rimmel Natural Bronzer which has a slight gold shimmer to it which makes my skin look naturally tanned and healthy.

Light Concealer.
I don't have dark circles under my eyes, thankfully but I do get bags sometimes. I've been really enjoying using this Nyx Concealer which is much lighter than my foundation shade, under my eyes. Even on days where I have no bags and have very little discolouration under my eyes I add this to brighten up my face. It's so affective.

If you are like me and so late to trying this then do give it a go because it really does help your face look more awake.

Waterproof Mascara.
As I've already mentioned I have oily skin so normal mascaras that I've used for my bottom lashes have just ended up smudging everywhere throughout the day. So this Summer I decided to use a waterproof mascara for my bottom lashes only which helps them to not smudge half way down my face.

I don;t like to use waterproof mascaras on my top lashes usually so when I bought the Maybeline Lash Sensational in waterproof by accident I just decided to use it for under my eyes but to be honest it's a bit big of an applicator to do my bottom lashes so I must really buy a thinner and smaller mascara.

Gel Liner.
Another product I've recently tried is the Nyx Mousse Liner. I always heard that it was easier to do a winged liner with a gel but I never believed till I tried it and it's honestly true. I still personally prefer using a pen style liner but it definitely lasts longer using a gel and easier to do a cat-eye Try it out if you struggle with winged liner when using a pen style applicator.

Primer.
After beginning to use primer I've noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my makeup. It also helps my makeup to stay on for longer. Everything just seems to sit better and last longer. I will have to go and buy the mattifying version of the Benefit Porefessional Primer as I've liked using this one so much.

Coconut Oil.
I've spoken about coconut oil on my blog before as I love to use it on my hair regularly but I've been loving using it as a moisturiser for my skin recently too. Especially over the Summer when my skin was drier than usual.

I don't love the smell of coconut to be honest but the feeling it gives my skin makes the smell
bearable, It dries in pretty quickly just make sure to not wear it when out in the sun as oil attracts the heat.

Outfit Opinions ~ Mtv VMAs 2016

Hey guys. So as you know by now I love looking up all the outfits from any big award show so of course I had to comment on the Mtv Video Music Awards this year. My favourite of the night was definitely Hailey Baldwin's outfit, she looked INCREDIBLE!

Hailee Steinfield.
I loved the colourful patterns of this dress because I feel like there is a lot of black on the VMA carpet. It reminds me of something Kylie Jenner would wear. I just don't like the way Hailee did her hair to be honest but I'm in love with the outfit.

Ariana Grande.
I actually really liked this outfit but I'd prefer if the pants were a little shorter to show off some killer heels but I love the top and choker. I think the fact that you can't see her feet makes her look a little short. I'm loving the fringe though

Ansel Elgort.
Ansel's outfit really shocked me because it's strange to see him in such a punk/rock outfit. He looks hot but I think I prefer when he wears a more "dapper" outfit but it's good to see him trying something new as it is the VMAs,

Nicky Minaj.
I frickin' love this dress on Nicky Minaj! This outfit is so flattering and I'm in love with this colour. It's very sexy but also sophisticated. Her hair was so sleek and shiny..so jealous.

Beyoncé.
After seeing Beyoncé in concert this Summer I have a whole new level of respect for her because she truly is the queen! However, this outfit isn't my favourite of the night because I'm not sure how I feel about the neck piece thing but it does make a statement. This outfit is so dramatic and unique which only Beyoncé could rock and Blue Ivy looked adorable with her too.

Fifth Harmony.
I sometimes think Fifth Harmony don't look like a group on the red carpet because they wear really individual looks but at the VMAs this year they looked like a proper group. I love that they all wore black but in different styles to show their own personal fashion sense.

My favourite one is either Camila or Normani's outfit. I'm not very sure how I feel about Ali's outfit individually though.

Stella Maxwell.
There was literally black everywhere at the VMAs this year so this outfit was so refreshing to see. It's very fashion forward and artsy. It's super cool and stood out among the dark outfits.

Jaden Smith.
I think this will be a love or hate outfit but I personally like it. Jaden Smith experiments with different styles, textures and patterns which only someone like him could make work. If he wasn't the one wearing this outfit I feel like I'd probably hate it but I think it looks very fashionable and creative. What do you think of this one?

Kim Kardashian.
And another black outfit...I'm honestly sick of seeing black but this is a beautiful look on Kim K. It looks effortlessly stunning and sexy. I feel like wet hair will be the next big trend now. Her body is looking amazing too. I'm not too sure why there was only one shoulder covered as the outfit was revealing enough as it is but anyways it was still beautiful.

Hailey Baldwin.
I've left my absolute favourite to last. This outfit is so edgy and cool but also has this pretty and delicate look. Hailey looked so stunning with her flawless hair and makeup. This is perfect for the VMAs. I'm just obsessed!

And that's all my opinions on some of the outfits from the VMAs 2016. Let me know which were your favourites of the night. Thanks for reading!

Subtle But Pretty Festival Makeup!

Hey guys, as I mentioned in my last post, I went to the Indiependence festival recently which was my first ever festival actually. Here's a post of one of the makeup looks with a list of the products I used.

This was the most subtle of my makeup looks from that weekend. This could be an everyday look too, just excluding the white dots obviously.

I just did this gold and army green eye, on the last day. I really liked how the colours complemented my outfit. It was simple but effective.
Products I used.

Skin
Benefit porefessional primer.
L'oreal True Mstch Foundation.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.
Nyx Wonder Stick (contour shade)
Rimmel Natural Bronzer.
Catrice Blush "050 Apropos Apricot."
Sleek Solstice Highlighting palette "Subsolar."

Eyes
Catrice gold eyeshadow "950 Gold Out."
Nyx "Love In Paris" eyeshadow Palette "LIP 06/C'est la Vie" (Darkest Green Shade)
Nyx Eoic Black Mousse Liner.
Catrice Kohl kajal 040 White"
Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara.

Brows
Sleek Au Naturel eyeshadow palette "Nubuck" and "Bark"

Lips
Nyx liquid Suede Cream Lipstick "Sandstorm."
(I dabbed my lips with a tissue which made the cream lipstick matte.)

Decoration
I used Nyx white liquid liner to create the dots. They stayed in place for the entire day. It was really long lasting and effective.

FOTD ~ Golden Eye With A Browny-Nude Lip.

Hey Guys. It's finally Summer! That means no more tests, no more school but a lot more free time. I've been looking forward to getting back into blogging as I just love it. This week's post is a FOTD (face of the day) post. I actually really enjoyed this so I will definitely do these more often.

I personally love to wear a golden eye. I think it brings out the green in my eyes. I've also got really into using lip liners at the moment.

My favourite ones to use are the Penneys/Primark "PS Love" ones. They're super creamy and really cheap. Give them a look if you're on the lookout for a new lip liner.

Skin.
For foundation I used the L'oreal True Match.

To contour I used 2 products. Firstly I used the Nyx Wonder Stick

On top of that to add more definition and a more natural and even look, I used my Sleek Face Form.  I love this compact so much!

I didn't use much blush but I just dusted the blush shade from the Sleek Face Form also over my cheeks. I used the highlighter shade on my cheekbones too. I'm on the hunt for a new really good highlighter so let me know if you have any ideas for me.

Eyes.
Next were the eyes, which were the main focus for this look. Through the crease I used a contour shade from the Maybeline Master Sculpt compact.

I also blended a light orange shade eye-shadow through the crease. It didn't show up too much on camera but it was really pretty in person. I used the orange shade "Toast" from the Sleek Au Natural Palette.

On my lid I put Catrice eyeshadow "950 Gold Out" which is a shimmery gold shade.
To brighten up the inner corner and to brighten and add more sparkle to the lid I used the sparkly gold in the Nyx "Love In Paris" Palette.

To do my winged liner, I used my favourite L'oreal Super Liner.  The mascara I used was the Revlon Volume + Length Mascara.

Brows.
For some reason. on camera my brows always look really big and fluffy but I promise you they don't look like that in person. So strange!

I usually use a grey shade to fill them in and a brown shade to outline them, I use "Nubuck" and "Regal" from the Sleek Au Natural Palette.

To keep the hairs in place I used the Maybeline Brow Drama.

Lips
I just applied a lipliner for my entire lips. It gave a matte defined look which I actually love. To do this I used Ps Love lip liner pencil. I couldn't find a name for this one but it's basically a browny nude colour.

As you can see by the picture, it needs to be sharpened as I've been non-stop wearing this recently. Love it!

I tried so hard to not write too much for this post but I just can't help myself, once I start I just keep going, haha. I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading.

Met Gala 2016 ~ Outfit Opinions.

Hey guys! It's finally time to do a post on the Met Gala.
I just love looking up all the outfits the day after because it's always the most interesting red carpet of the year. I looked at all the outfits and chose my favourites and some of my least favourites.

I was shocked by a few of the celebrities whose outfits usually shine on the red carpet that I didn't like too much this time. These are just my personal opinions and I'm only commenting on the outfits, not the celebrities themselves.

Enough babbling, let's get straight into it.

My Favourites.

Jourdan Dunn's dress was my favourite of the night. She looked so stunning!

Kylie and Kim were definitely trying to "twin it" last night.

Not entirely sure how I feel about the latex on Beyonce's dress but she looked fabulous nonetheless.

Kate Hudson still amazes me after all these years, she always looks gorgeous.

Least Favourites.

I think the stars made Dakota's dress look a little childish and cheap. Mia Goth's dress reminded me of seaweed (I hate seaweed so much) so I think that's why I didn't like it.

I love Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez so much but these outfits were blah in my opinion. Taylor is trying this more rocker style at the moment and I don't know how I feel about it. I think I prefer the more sophisticated and girly T-Swizzle. Lady Gaga is "gaga" but not wearing pants on a red carpet is a whole other level

I think Sarah-Jessica Parker looked a little casual for the Met Gala and Rose Byrne's dress was a bit baggy for her. I just never seem to like Madonna's style, I personally think she tries too hard to be "out there"

I saved the most colourful until last. I must admit that Solange's dress is actually really cool because I haven't a clue how it was made but it just looks a little impractical.

******
And that's a wrap...There were so many dresses to look at so I restrained myself from writing too much. Let me know which outfits were your favourite and don't forget to follow me on Instagram.

Thanks for reading!
